PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Cape Ann Piano Studio, Gloucester MA
(formerly J. Cleveland Piano Studio, 1990–1995)
Owner and Instructor, 1990–2003
Began full-time, successful piano instruction business, the Cape Ann Piano Studio, in January 1996. Taught over 30 private students, primarily young students, beginning through advanced levels, each week for either a 30- or 60-minute private lesson. Co-taught with another instructor at the studio group class for 4- and 5-year-olds once per week. In addition to piano, taught composition, theory, history, as well as basic jazz theory, harmony, and improvisation. Produced two recitals each school year; a holiday recital and a formal spring recital. Published and distributed a bi-monthly studio newsletter and gave written student evaluations at the end of the Fall and Spring semesters.
